Dr. Daniel R. Schumaier
Daniel R. Schumaier received his undergraduate training at Southeast Missouri
State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, receiving a BA in Speech
Pathology in 1966.

After two years’ service in the US Army as a medic, he pursued a master’s degree in Audiology from the Central Institute for the Deaf at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He went on to earn his PhD in Audiology from Michigan State University in 1972.

Dr. Schumaier was a founding member of the Audiological Resource Association (ARA), serving as its first president from 1975-1977. He is involved in numerous professional organizations and received AAA’s first Humanitarian Award in 1995.

Dr. Schumaier holds numerous patents, both domestic and foreign, including patents for the Dry & Store conditioning system; TransEar, the bone conduction hearing instrument for single-sided deafness; and Clik, the only premium technology digital hearing aid that is able to be programmed without computers, cables, or software.
